Billy Brooks Sensei has been training in the Martial Arts for over 35 years and holds the rank of Yondan (4th Degree) in Combat Hapkido under the teachings of Grand Master Kwok Tse (1921-1999) along with extensive Martial Arts Training in the Marine Corps. He began Aikido in 1980 training at a dojo in Hiroshima, Japan while stationed at Iwakuni Air Station. He began teaching Aikido in 1985 after receiving his instructor certificate. With previous training in mind, Sensei Brooks is also quoted to say, "I have learned more about the Martial Arts, integrity, honesty, respect & honor from Steven Seagal Shihan than anyone within the first year of his teachings. Not only is it a privilege to train and teach under Seagal Shihan, but to see him live his teachings day to day without deviation is incredible."
Billy Brooks Sensei received his Shodan (1st Degree) in Aikido from F. Toyoda Shihan, M. Saotome Shihan, Kevin Blok Shihan and Roger Jarrett Shihan before beginning training under Master Steven Seagal . Billy Brooks Sensei holds the rank
of Yondan in Aikido and his education includes a PhD in Human Resource
Management and a Masters in Environmental, Health & Industrial
Safety. Brooks Sensei credits Seagal Shihan in a recent interview for helping him overcome trauma during his career through meditation and extensive Martial Arts (Aikido) Training with this quote, "He (Seagal Shihan) has wisdom and knowledge known only to those of us who have been fortunate enough to learn, train and follow his teachings. I owe my life to Shihan Seagal." Currently,
